Why Study Nutrition at BMU?We prepare students to learn and understand dietetics and diet, Nutrition and Nutrients making them capable of providing good nutrition to people hence helping creating better societies. We prepare students to work and to advice consumer groups, the food industry and government agencies, or engage in our research.
SELECTION CRITERIA:-Suitable candidates are invited for a personal interview on one of our open day. People with eating disorders such an anorexia nervosa or bulimia may not be able to obtain dietetic practical placement and would not, therefore, be eligible for registration in dietetics.
CAREER PROSPECTS:-A high proportion of our Nutrition graduates continue to work in the area, for example entering nutrition research institutes through out the world. In view of the growth of public interest in food and health sought after, Many can and are employed by consumer group, food retailers, government and the food industry and other become food and health journalists.
DIPLOMA IN MODERN NUTRITION ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR POST GRADUATION (MASTER) IN CLINICAL NUTRITION / DIETETICS.Students qualifying in Dietetics usually follow careers in hospital or community health service but some find employment in the food and pharmaceutical industries or in research institutions, work in pharmaceutical industries, research, academia or in the media.
