* If it shouldn't be viewed by minors, then it shouldn't be posted to the forums or chat rooms. This is a public, family-friendly forum. In addition, if something would not be considered "work safe" (to a boss or co-worker), then it shouldn't be posted.
* Do not disrespect moderators. Be respectful in both the forums and any private communications with moderators. Moderators are volunteers that donate many, many hours of their own time to help in the forums and chat rooms. Violations of this rule will not be tolerated.
* No SHOUTING. Remember, using ALL CAPITAL LETTERS in posts is considered yelling and rude, plus it is difficult to read.
* Do not post offline personal contact information (ie. your home address, phone numbers etc.) and do not ask for personal information from others. Modify your member profile in the Control Panel (VIEW IMAGE) at the top left corner of the forum to set privacy settings for your account. DOs:
* Do Check for open topics. Before posting a new topic, please check to see if there is already a topic open on the subject.
* Do Report posts that violate the rules and guidelines by selecting the Admin alert button at the lower left corner of the post to notify the administrator. We will act on the report as quickly as we can. Do not reply to the offending post as that typically only encourages the poster.
* Do Use good judgment. NEVER rely on information or opinions exchanged via the forums or chat rooms to replace necessary, personal consultation(s) with qualified health or medical professionals to meet your individual health or medical needs. Remember that what's right or has worked for one person may not be what's right for you.
* Lend a helping hand. A bit of compassion can go a long way toward helping people with life's challenges and reaching out can help alleviate feelings of loneliness. We're all different, but we're really all the same. At sometime or another, we all need or want help or simply someone with whom we can share our burdens or successes.
* Don't be afraid to share. If you're feeling alone or hurting, don't be afraid to share your fears and tears. If you're rejoicing about the results of a recent medical test or treatment, share that too.
* Do welcome new members. When newcomers arrive, say "hi" and welcome them. Help new folks "learn the ropes" about how to find information and resources, save time, and how to get involved. You will also find a lot of help using the forums themselves.
* Use descriptive titles for new posts. Avoid "generic" post subjects like "Help" or "Question". You will receive a better response to your posts by being more descriptive about the content of your post.
Signatures
* Signatures may contain up to five lines of text (of small or normal size) and/or one image, valid combinations include; a single image of no more than 60px high, 468px wide and 6kB (6000 Bytes) in size. Signatures containing an image this large may also include one line of small size text. Signatures containing an image of 30px high may include up to three lines of small size text or two lines of normal size text. Images of 15px height or less may allow up to three lines of normal size text or four lines of small size text. 2. Text sizes should be between 75% and 100% (small and normal). Text in signatures is subject to the same conditions as posts with respect decency, warez, emoticons, and so forth.
* Links in signatures are permitted to a maximum of four unique pages or sites. Linked sites should not be commercial in nature. You may not include links in a way which suggests you offer official support, software, etc. for commercial purpose. You may not link to warez, porn or political, racist or other similar hate sites. Links are included in signature size limits.
* Users abusing these rules will be warned. Policy
* Baqaians forum operates a two strike policy. Users will be warned a maximum of two times for any and all offences in a one month period. If the need arises for a third warning a temporary ban will be put in place of between 1 to 7 days.
* Arguing with team members after having received a warning will lead to an immediate additional warning. Should this exceed two strikes a temporary ban will be put in place as above.
* Users who feel they have been unfairly warned are welcome to contact the relevant team leader, e.g. if warned by a moderator you should contact the Moderator team leader. If they feel you were treated badly they remove a warning.
* Any attempt to circumvent a temporary ban will lead to that ban being made permanent. Circumvention includes re-registering under a non-banned username, changing IP addresses to evade an IP ban, registering a new email account of evade an email ban, re-editing a post edited by a moderator. Circumvention includes posting as an anonymous user.
* An exception to the two strike rule applies when users contact team members personally (via any method) and post insulting, indecent or vulgar material. Such users may be subject to an immediate permanent ban.
* Permanent bans are a last resort and thought is given before implementing them. While Baqaians forum may consider lifting permanent bans from time to time this is a rare occurrence.
